Hhhmmm yuppers, its been a while, last week i wrote a fantastic 2 update and as i posted it, somehow it all disappeared! Dam, did that ever upset me, so now i will try to repeat the fun.
First i will take you back a few weeks. The training camp in Italy was super fantastic, really fun for our little traveling band (Anna Carin, Liam and I) were there together. I was there with Liam as a dad and mom had to work, train train train what a great time. In the last few days of the camp the 10 Swedish ladies raced a sprint followed this up with a normalized pursuit (individual times counted). For fun, the girls added in a extra twist, the sprint day was only to be a positive day. This meant that for the whole 24hrs of this day, they were not allowed to say any negative comments about anything, ei. my legs hurt, oh I’m so tired, its so cold etc. This was to test out to see how much does it really do for each person if there is only positive energy around. The second day they were allowed to say what ever they wanted. It seems like positivity works out great for Helena who won the sprint shooting 0 0 with a healthy one min margin over Anna Carin who shot 1 1. Then Betan came in third 1 0 with AK Stromstad skiing super strong to come in 4th. Overall this day was fun for Liam as spectators because odly enough, it was very quite, for eg. When we asked AC how it went, she said to ask after midnight :) Ha haaa it was fun! The pursuit day was really cool and exciting to watch. Anna Carin was struggling a little bit during the two weeks with her shooting consistency. But this day, she put together a fantastic race, even though she felt tired skiing (like all the girls did after two hard weeks of training) shooting 0 0 0 1 winning the race over Helena who shot 1 1 1 0. Steady Betty he heee heee was 3rd again missing only two targets. Then the rest of the girls had a real fight, consistently switching positions right up to the end. So, unfortunately it looks like Anna’s normal pessimistic attitude before the race seems to work just fine for her, ha haaa good thing I am here to balance her out with my over the top optimism. During all of the girls hard work outs, and races, Liam learned to cheer very well, yelling Haya haya at the girls as they were going by………..and even in the shooting range (good for focus work I guess).
 Prize ceremony with Fam
Anna and especially I would like to thank the Santer family and all the staff very much for making us feel at home so well, and making us feel right at home! Finally after another long trip home we arrived back at home in Sweden for only a one week break at 1 am on the 18th. To our nice surprise, a wind storm knocked our phone line down, but this was up and fixed with in a few hours of us getting home…….nice! And, Oct 20th, winter arrived, luckily Anna Carin had 4 days off so we were able to relax, continue renovating the house and watch the weather while being cosy inside! Too soon came the time where the three of us went to three different parts of the world. Now, I am in Canada doing the final ski prep for the world cup, Liam stayed at home with the Grandparents and Anna Carin is now in Mounio Finland for a two week early snow camp :( missin em like crazy as always.
wonderful snowy morning from our new bathroom balcony
The start of the training camp has gone decent so far, with a total of 4km man made loop, but as normal, its a little cold feeling (this is normal for the start of the season, going from above 0 temp to snow and -9 ish, brrr. One comment Anna Carin has made to me was how tough one of there trainings sessions was, going up and down to race pace and back for almost 2hr 30 min, uuhhhgggg, she said she was totally empty after that. Yah I can imagine that. Alright, thats it for now, till next time, Ciau TZ |
